AOL to Launch Services to Challenge Skype, MySpace, Google · MarketingVOX

AOL is terrible, IMHO. They take the newbie, suck them into their vaccuum and manage to convince the newbie that all the internet is found within one interface. It irritates the crap out of me, and I’m frankly still surprised that it’s happening.

Even when I signed up for DSL service, I asked what would happen if I didn’t want MSN. (Qwest is “powered by MSN”) The CSR told me that ‘you can’t connect to the internet without MSN’

Now I can understand the need for them to sell the MSN service - but to not give me an option? It seems like a load of crap to me.

So now, AOL is going to add all those nifty services that AO-hell users had to go outside the ’safe spot’ to find, thereby shutting more newbies out of the rest of the internet.

AOL to Launch Services to Challenge Skype, MySpace, Google

I am SO opposed to internet regulation.
