Solopreneur Business Structure

Isn’t it funny how you know something, or you think you do… and then someone comes along, rephrses it - and it’s like a completely new idea? Like you’ve been slappped in the face?

That just happened to me.

I was listening to a recording by Sean D’Souza… an hour-long teleclass he held a few weeks ago. So here I was - listening, working, listening, working - hearing all the stuff I preach to my clients “you can’t just coach/consult/sell, you have to have more

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Don’t strive for 100% service. Strive for 40% (or more!)product (infoproduct, ebook, subscription site, etc.), 40% training (workshops, teleclasses, etc.) and 20% service. The more product/training you do and the less service - the more freedom you have (which is what we all want), the more respect you get (by clients, peers, family, & friends alike), and the more profitable your business becomes. It becomes sustainable in your absence (like that backpacking trip across Europe you keep dreaming about)

This is the opportune time to plan for your growth. There’s another week-and-a-half in December - we still have enough time to strategize what to do in the upcoming year to foster that growth that provides the freedom. What are you going to offer to fill up that 80% product/training?

I’m still working on mine. You can expect to see at least one ebook come from me next year, and at least one e-course. :) (Working title: “Out of the Office by Three: The Solopreneur’s Guide to a Profitable & Sustainable Service Business”)
